Three Month Diet Update

There’s no tired like Daylight Savings Time tired.

This Unsplash image is an actual photo of me after the time change.

Starting weight: 167
Current weight: 151.7 (Last week’s check-in weight was 152.2)
Goal weight: 130

Reflection : I can’t believe it’s been three months since I started Nutrisystem. In that amount of time, I’d expect to be down more pounds. But, hey, that’s okay. I mean, even though it took about seven minutes to put on an extra thirty pounds, I understand that it could take seven years to take it off. Such is life.

Exercise: This was an under-the-weather week. I’ve felt extremely tired — springing forward is the devil’s work — and bothered by allergies and stress. So I have made no effort to exercise beyond the norm. Seriously, on Saturday, all I did was sit around and watch movies. This morning, my husband made me get up and go grocery shopping with him. On a side note, I firmly believe that the way I will die someday is as a passenger in a car that my husband is driving. He drives like he has only 30 seconds to get to wherever he’s going. All. The. Time.

Anyway, I’ve also been working a lot on my book. It’s completed and out with beta readers now! Yay! But anyway, look how close I am to being out of the 150s. I think next week I’ll be motivated to kick it into high gear. (Well, maybe medium-high gear. Fine, medium — yes, that’s perfect. Okay, okay, at least a couple notches above low — why are you attacking me?)

Food: I need to talk about the Nutrisystem frozen pizza. I always heat it in the oven rather than the microwave, because it’s better that way. I do not know if it’s my oven, the pizza, or me, but every time I cook it, no matter which variety it is, it burns! And I leave it in the oven for less time than the instructions say to, and check it often. It still burns on the bottom. I don’t mind an extra toasty crust, but it’s getting ridiculous.

Parting Words: You can burn your pizza, and you can burn fat. But it takes a minute to burn pizza and a decade to burn fat. (I just made that up. I’m sure if I try harder, I’ll burn fat in a more timely manner.)
