Another Diet Update

No progress this week, but … Nothing Bundt Cakes … I mean, come on.

This Unsplash image is an actual photo of me trying to hide my third piece of cake.

Starting weight: 167
Current weight: 151.3 (Last week’s check-in weight was 151.7)
Goal weight: 130

Reflection : I think it may be time for me to update only when there’s been a significant change (hopefully a loss). I feel like these weeks of losing only tenths of a pound, or gaining tenths of a pound, make for a depressing boring pointless update.

Exercise: In lieu of talking about the exercise I didn’t do, here’s a funny April Fool’s prank I did tried to do on my husband.

And here’s another one.

Food: We need to talk about my addiction to Diet Coke. I sip on water occasionally, and drink water during and after exercise (see above for how often that is), but mostly I drink Diet Coke. Now, I realize that if I cut down on it, I’ll probably lose more weight. But cutting down on something takes will power and discipline. Before 50, I had will power and discipline. Now it’s like, whatever, babes, I want three bottles of Diet Coke a day, and I want this third piece of delicious lemon cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes (true story), and you can fight me. That’s not to say I don’t care about my health. Losing 15 pounds has made a notable difference in how I feel, and I want to keep losing. But, I mean, I’m going to have an attitude about it.

Parting Words: Trust me when I say you can’t trust me to stick to my diet 100 percent of the time, especially if there’s Nothing Bundt Cake in the room.
