NaNoWriMo2022

NaNoWriMo raises money for writing programs for classrooms, libraries, and communities.

It’s almost November, and that means the start of National Novel Writing Month, AKA NaNoWriMo. I signed up for NaNoWriMo last year, but only made time to write 4,130 words of my sequel to Sitting on Top of the World. This time I’m serious. I now have a little over 15,000 words written, and my goal is 50,000 by the end of November. That equals roughly 1,166 words per day. Yikes!

This means I’ll need YOU to hold me accountable. I’m not sure how you can do that, but I know I’ll need you. I have my monthly newsletter, which features small snippets of the novel as I write it, but that’s only once a month. (It goes out on the 15th of each month, so if you haven’t subscribed yet, go to my homepage and scroll down to the subscription form.)

Maybe I should commit to sharing something about my writing each week in November here on my website. Of course, that would take time away from writing the novel, and November is a busy month as it is. What I can do is send out a quick tweet or FB post announcing my progress — that only takes a minute. That sounds like the best plan! I’ll use the hashtag #Nanowrimo2022.

And when it’s over, I’ll proudly sport the winner’s shirt I pre-ordered!

Will any of you join me in writing a novel this November?
