Almost-5-months Diet Update

Nothing to see here, folks.

This Unsplash image is an actual photo of how I keep myself away from the refrigerator.

Starting weight: 167
Current weight: 148.2 (Last check-in weight was 149.4)
Goal weight: 130

What’s Going On: So I haven’t joined a gym yet. It has been a super-busy past few weeks. I’m getting my second book finalized, I’ve been doing multiple writing contests, there’s end-of-year school stuff, oh, and my youngest is about to start learning to drive. Eek! Anyway, one thing I have done is: I found another meal kit service that is supposed to be healthy, and there’s a lot of customization you can do.

It’s called Hungry Root. They send you the groceries needed for the meals you want to prepare for the week, plus prepackaged snacks and things — whatever you choose. So far, I’ve made the creamy chicken taquitos, which I liked, but no one else in my family did. I ate a breakfast sausage tamale, which was yummy, but not at all healthy. I tried a prosciutto and gruyere egg bite, which I did not enjoy. But I’m loving the snacks they sent me so far. One down side is that it’s expensive. But again, you can adjust it to fit your needs, and I made changes to my next delivery to bring the cost down.

Even though I’ve quit Nutrisystem, I still have a lot of NS food left, so I’m making use of that. And I am so grateful to Nutrisystem for giving me the kickstart I needed to lose some of this weight.

What Else: In full transparency, I have slipped up with my healthy eating lately (Krispy Kreme, fru-fru coffee, ice cream, just to name a few), so I really thought I had gained back a few pounds. But somehow I did not, and I was happy to see I’ve actually lost a pound since I last checked in. So let’s keep going, shall we?

Parting Words: My weight loss plan may be under construction, but I’m learning as I go, and I will keep chugging along. Share in the comments what you do that works.
