I have recently added a free “First Chapter Friday” video reading of the
first chapter of Sitting on Top of the World for teachers to share with
their students. Stay tuned for an entire novel study unit with
activities for pre-reading, nonfiction history connection, vocabulary,
character and plot analysis, theme, and figurative language,
and outside-the-box chapter assessments.
Feature Product
Word War I is a card game I created in an attempt to make studying roots and affixes fun, and boy is it fun! My 6th-grade students ask to play this game when we have extra time.
It is played similarly to Uno, except that instead of matching colors and numbers, you’re building words. I recently followed it up with another set, Word War II. Each set is available in my store for $5.00.
Word Nerd: Word Games & Puzzles for Middle School ELA
This product features 7 mind-bending word puzzles as a fun way for students to practice academic vocabulary. These puzzles could be used in literacy stations, test review, or for early finishers.
This product is also available in my Word Study Mega Bundle.
